Day 45, Nov 18th
1419.18 miles so far.
Set the bike in the sun to thaw her out, more coffee and packing. Nice leisurely 9:30 start. Wet gear, chilly weather, no big rush to have the wind freeze my hands n face 42* good enough. Compressor sucked, actually lowered my pressure, dollar general two rotisserie chicken burritos, and another compressor. Nope, 8.7 miles later found one that was a champ. Met a sweet couple, she said a prayer for me
stopped at a cider n pie joint. Had the 3rd person that has asked me if my bike was an E-bike. Nope all legs
. Talked to Bob on the Spanish Moss Trail, he is really wanting to also ride to Key West. I told him my gear set up, what worked so far, just a little hopefully helpful advice to get him on his way. Stopped at Subway, had the Footlong Monster.
super dark out, no hotels anywhere close that is reasonable. Camping it is, met some cool cats at the end of the Broad River fishing pier, Tyler his pops, and Angelina Chrzan I mentioned I was looking to stealth it for the night. I was actually thinking about setting up on the end of the pier, then I happened to hear from. Tyler Musick about the nature preserve just over the bridge. Sounds great to me. No tent tonight, pad, bag, tarp to lay on and to cover if it gets crazy cold and
good to go, and there might be gators, but no worries, Im on the lower deck, they have a long hike to get to me and I should hear them sliding. I’ll wake up early, pack fast, then enjoy the morning with a view, coffee and of course some more oatmeal. Thanks DG Oh also bought my tickets to fly out to Vegas, landing on the 29th or 30th till the 8th. My bike trip will again pause but the saga will continue
My daughter Ashlee Henderson Is going to be competing in the barrel races!! I told her today that after a couple stops I have about 300 miles to Jacksonville, she asked me if I was on crack
, nope just a little
and
. Hahaha I miss her so much!!
My new GPS stopped working, so that is going back. Gordon Mohawk Brewer There might be some deliveries coming to your place. See you soon Brother.
