Day 8, Oct 12th
8 miles till Cumberland, nice and crisp packed up, coffee, 
rollin at 8. Sheriff’s rolled by as I was updating you all. He said “out for a ride?” Well ya see the bike… no shit Sherlock 
just playing, super cool cats. Riding a bicycle 10 miles an hour at 40° with no gloves is the same as riding a Harley and 30° at 50 miles an hour with gloves on oh 
!! If you haven’t heard the story, it goes like this

Rollin into Cumberland,the 150 miles of The GAP is complete and the start of the 184.5 miles Cumberland to DC, the C and O Canal. 4:00 I have 5 miles to go to a campsite and it looks like it’s gonna be coming down pretty decently 4:35 found my oasis across the river from Paw Paw WV. 39.5 miles today. All set up, filtered me some Potomac River for my coffee and oatmeal in the morning.

A dude on an electric bike just rode past me at 8 o’clock at night Bluetooth speaker blaring but he was listening to a podcast or someone reading The Bible.
